Private bookings for Clubs, Groups or Individuals

outside the Nant Borrant refuge, TMB

One of the things that I have been able to do very well is provide 'Bespoke' trips for private clubs and groups of like minded people who want to do something different.

Whether its a long weekend break in the Dolomite, spending a couple of nights in the high mountain huts, or perhaps following a 'Classic' like the Tour du Mont Blanc', a 12 day 'epic' which takes you all the way round western europes heighest mountain, Mont Blanc (4,810m) passing through 3 countries on route .
Picture above: A group outside the Nant Borrant hut, on the french section of the TMB. The 'Nant Borant' is a lovely privately run refuge, sleeping 32 people and offering a fantastic evening meal and much welcomed glass of wine or beer! It is managed by it's owners, Pierre and his family, who are supervised by Oggy, the elusive but beautiful grey persian cat!
Map displaying the location of Mont Blanc: The pin is centered on the mountain town of Courmayeur, on the Italian border with Italy. Tours normally start from here or Chamonix. The closest airports are Geneva, Switzerland (1 hour 15 mins by private transfer bus) or Turin, Italy (4 hours by coach).
Pennine Alps

How about the 'Tour of Monta Rosa'? This 13 day circular tour of the Italian and Swiss Alps offers fabulous views of the Matterhorn, Dufourspitz, Lyskam, Castor and Pollox, not to mention the mighty Grenz Glacier, nicknamed 'the maneater'! Typically I would include a rest day in Zermatt on route. There is also the chance to see Ibex, Chamois and Marmots as well as many smaller animals and alpine flowers. The journey also includes a climb to 3,322 metres, to cross the Theodulpass from Switzerland into Italy. It is also possible to split the tour in two if you dont have time to complete it all in one go.

Dolomite or Brenta Dolomite range.

In the North eastern corner of Italy sits the Dolomites. These huge rock towers are the result of erosion after the Tethay Ocean retreated from what was a coral reef. You can still find fosils in the rock to prove it!

In one area it is possible to see Brown Bears, in the Brenta Dolomites follow a network of trails up to the high huts and then spend a day on a 'Via Ferrata', (Iron way). These networks of narrow paths and ladders, created for military purposes in the First World War, allow you access to area's normally only reserved for climbers.

But if this is not for you, then just take a guided walking tour. You can spend time on Monte Spottani, above Madonna di Campiglio, spotting the marmots or searching out the globe flower, which old fables describe as Goblin's lanterns because of their rounded shape and bright yellow petals!

Come Marmot spotting! After a winter spent in hibernation Marmots enjoy the warm summer months sunbathing between the top of the treeline (1,900) to around 2,500 metres. They can be found anywhere in the Alps and Dolomite regions.
